I too have always loved pearlescence and Jack does a wonderful job of capturing this phenomenon in sound. (The cover art alone is worth what you pay for the album.)

Another great, related word is "chatoyant," the apparent shimmering *inside* certain gemstones (e.g., Tiger's Eye) when seen from different angles. Favorite track: Infinite Iridescence.
