about

con·tort·ed (kn-tôrtd) adj.

1. Twisted or strained out of shape.
2. Botany Twisted, bent, or partially rolled upon itself; convolute.

These tracks were originally compiled for the Contorted record label run by Carl Merson. Unfortunately, the tape got lost in the shuffle of moving from Maryland to California and was never released to the public.

In the early 1990s, computer programming and the internet became a sexy diversion that soon took over my life. What you hear here are the last bits and pieces of what I was working between 1990 and 1993. The music spans a variety of styles, ranging from ambient to some of my first Freq Mod experiments, and more progressive type stuff. Much of it is unmixed and unfinished, mistakes and all, that I present to EMjoy for the sake of posterity and future civilizations to ponder some day.
